Question

How can I check the third party designation box as Yes for a deceased relative return?

It's the section right before Sign Here section.  Turbo Tax checked No, but I need to change it to Yes.

You can't change the third-party designation in TurboTax Online, You can do it in CD/Download. Another option with Online is to mail in the return and write in the information.

One you are in CD/Download:

  1. Tap Forms in the top right (next to Flags)
  2. Tap Info Wks in the left column
  3. Go down to Part VI—Additional Information for Your Federal Return—Continued
  4. Select Yes and fill in the Third Party Designee info
