TurboTax data files are .tax2019 files that can only be read with the TurboTax software or .pdf files that can be read with a pdf viewer.

Thank you for asking "why." I can't afford turbotax anymore. i'm migrating to HR Block. Last year I spent $200 on my tax return. HR Block wants TXF file for import. I already know about the pdf and .tax files and none of these file formats work with HR Block. I need to get out of TurboTax not in.
Why would TurboTax support a file format that can only be used in a competitors product (obvious answer)?

Sorry, You can only import a K-1 to the Desktop CD/Download Software, not to Online version and if you can get a .txf file for it and in the right format. Apparently you can only import K-1s for MLPs and not Trusts or Estates. You can not import a K-1 from Turbo Tax Business Program.
I need to export my prior year tax return as a TXF file. Turbotax will not let me do that. It is like they have a copyright on MY ax return. It is MY information, not Turbotax's. Turbotax needs to grant access to income tax returns via any format, not just their programs
I used the online version last year. I need a tfx file to import last year's return into a different tax program. Turbo tax needs to be more helpful like that - I did pay a lot of money last year to use your software. Plus if they charged less money, I would have used it again this year.
