How do I generate and file form 1099-misc for the money I pay a subcontractor in my sole-proprietor business??

I'm a psychologist with a private practice. I use a subcontractor to file insurance claims, in exchange for a percentage of the payments. I need to generate a 1099-misc to send to the subcontractor and the IRS. IIRC I did this within Turbotax in previous years, but I can't remember how/where.

You can generate and file a Form 1099-MISC in Quick Employer Forms (QEF) to pay a subcontractor prior to completing your personal or business return. However, you will have to complete payment for TurboTax to utilize this feature.

Sign in to TurboTax.  On the Welcome Back to TurboTax screen, click the blue link Create W-2s and 1099s under Manage Your Return.

You may need to upgrade to use QEF.  It is available on these three software versions: TurboTax Business,TurboTax Home & Business for Desktop, and TurboTax Online Self-Employed.
