How do I input information on line 4a in Turbo tax?

There was no questions like mine. How do I input information on Line 4A and 4B via Turbo Tax software? Show me which section I can pull these lines up.

Are you talking about lines 4a and 4b on page 1 of the 1040?

If so, this is where IRA distributions are reported. These are distributions from IRAs, SEP-IRAs, and the like, as opposed to pensions and annuities, which are entered on lines 4c and 4d.

In TurboTax, you can do a Search (upper right) for "1099-r" (use the exact string in lower case without the double quotes) and jump to the result of the search.

Got through the 1099-R dialogue and enter the information requested. Note that sometimes the 4a field may still remain blank because of the IRS' convoluted instructions to sometimes not add the gross distribution in this field.
