Question

how do i report the sale of partnership interest?I received a form 8308. The AI tells me to navigate to the "business" tab. Which I don't see.

    Please clarify which version of TurboTax you are using: Online or Desktop? Windows or Mac? If Online, which browser?

    Hi Patricia - I'm using on-line turbotax Premium that I access via an internet browser. I'm using a windows PC if that matters. Thanks!

    To enter the sale of partnership interest in TurboTax, follow these steps:

     

    1. Sign into TurboTax
    2. Select K-1 for Partnership
    3. Enter Partnership Information
    4. Under "Description of Partnership" mark the box for "Disposed of a portion of my interest in partnership (see screenshot below)
    5. Under "Tell Us About Your Sale," check the box for "Sold Partnership Interest."
    6. Enter the sale information. You need to know your partnership basis in order to complete this section.
