I am using Home & Business. After entering my 1099's in the business section, they appear again in the personal section. Is this an error? How do I correct?
Are my 1099"s being counted twice?
Probably not, but let's make sure. The screens in TurboTax are summary screens and it is common to see the same income in different sections. However, all income should transfer to your tax return correctly. If you only entered the 1099s one time, the income should be reported only 1 time.
It looks like you are using desktop software, so it is easy to see your tax forms. Use Forms Mode (click on Forms in the upper right corner) to view your 1040 (Line #6). You can verify that the 1099 income only appears on one line (Business Income from Schedule 1). You can view any of your tax forms. If you see it reported twice, let me know and we can go from there. 😉
