Question

I bought a mini storage consisting of 11 units. how do i report that? some are vacant, some are not.

You should report your rental income and expenses from your self-storage units on Schedule E.

To navigate to this input in TurboTax Premier:

  1. Click the Federal Taxes tab
  2. Click Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to the Rental Properties and Royalties section
  4. Click the blue Show More for this section
  5. Click Start (or Revisit) next to Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E)
