I have no business income or business deductions for 2024, but Turbotax is forcing me to fill out a schedule c

Did you receive a 1099-NEC (Non-Employee Compensation)? The IRS considers this as a business.

Did you have any self employment income and expenses in prior years?

Yes. I have previous years of business income...with a loss for 2023. And now that sole prop earns and expenses nothing for the entire 2024 tax year. Any advice how to deal with the TurboTax myopia?

Delete the Schedule C that transferred over from the 2023 tax return -

 

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form
