I have the 2017 S corporation tax file. I have bought the 2018 business , on a Diskette. What is the best way to transfer the 2017 basic information to 2018 file?

First of all, 2018 TurboTax Business is not sold on a diskette (either CD or download).
Regardless, you simply need to install the 2018 program, locate your 2017 .tax file (*.tax2017), and transfer that into your 2018 TurboTax Business program (see screenshot).
