Question

I purchased a computer for my business in 2024 and am electing to deduct the full amount in 2024. Can I include the cost of the extended warranty I purchased?

No, extended warranty costs are typically treated as a business expense and not depreciated as part of the cost of an asset. You can deduct the cost of extended warranties as an expense, in proportion to business use if you use the computer for business and personal purposes.    Enter the cost of the warranty as a separate expense.   The asset cost should be what you paid for the vehicle.
