Question

I should receive a 1100 dollar stimulus check for having a child in 2020 because of covid. This didn't show up in my federal return. Will it come as a separate deposited?

When filing my taxes I saw I should receive 1100 more dollars in stimulus money however it didn't add the 1100 to my return. Will this stimulus check come seperatly from the federal return?

No. Any missing stimulus amounts will be added to your return as a Recovery Rebate Credit. The IRS is no longer sending out first and second stimulus checks.

Check your stimulus entries if TurboTax is not adding an additional $500 and $600 for your newborn.

  • Type stimulus in Search in the upper right
  • Click Jump to stimulus
  • Say Yes on It looks like you qualified for the stimulus, did you get any payments?
  • Check/edit the amounts shown. The total first-round payment in Enter your total first-round payment (issued April-Nov ’20) should be $500 less than First-round and the second-round should be $600 less.

Any stimulus amount remaining due to you will show as a credit on line 30 of your Form 1040.
