Question

I work as a self-employed healthcare provider at a clinic, do I report this as a 50% partnership (split fee rate I receive from seeing clients)?

It depends on which tax form you receive from your work.

If you receive form 1099-NEC, then you are a self-employed person. You enter that form 1099-NEC on your tax return. You can claim business expenses you paid.

Please read this TurboTax article on Form 1099-NEC for more information.

If you are a 50% partner in a partnership, the income and expenses of the business are reported on a business tax return (form 1065). And you'll receive a Schedule K-1 for your share of the income, which you'll enter on your tax return.

Please read this TurboTax article on Schedule K-1 for more information.
