Income from Form 1099-MISC - Previous Year Displayed, but $0 Displayed for Year Just Entered

Always great advice and feedback on this support website!

Ok, this is a simple but perplexing question to me.

In TuboTax Premier, using it many years, where I enter the income for various sections, it shows up in the right column, next to last years income column. However, this is not true for income I enter under "Income from Form 1099-MISC (learn more). In this particular case, only last year's shows up in the left column. The right column does not update to reflect the values I just entered.

In my particular case, this would be a small bit of income from a 1099-MISC for cash rent.

So I always see that $0 in that column and wonder what I am missing that it does not show up (as do every other income I enter for this tax year). Looking at 2022's TurboTax Premier, it also only shows the previous year not the current filing year.

Not sure of the correlation, but under Rental Properties and Royalties, the Rental Income minus expenses do show up for the past and current year.

Is there logic to this?

It appears as though the system is classifying the income properly and putting it in rental income instead of 1099-MISC income.  The same income should not be listed twice.

I have Home & Business with test copies of returns.

I can see rental income, rental expenses, and asset depreciation figures in the rental summary for the current (2023) and past tax year.

I can also business income and expenses for both tax years.

It does not appear anything I change makes a difference in Turbotax Premier. And all previous years left it $0 for that fiscal year as well. It seems to me it should show the current amount like it does for last  years State and Local Tax Refunds and than this years. The left column is last years, the right column this years.

Same problem here. 2023 it shows a number from rental income. 2024 it shows $0, making it look like I forgot to enter anything in

If you are asking about the summary screen in desktop, it is a known issue.  Continue your return and make sure your software is updated.  @Dan415
