I don't have any meals deduction in my federal return, but the state return is requesting that I add an amount greater than 0

TurboTax transfers data from your federal return to your state return. Before you begin troubleshooting your state return, go back through your federal return business entries and make sure everything is correct.

After you review your federal return, select the State Taxes tab and review the state section. Pay close attention to the information, especially if you have made changes to your federal return. There might be new sections that need to be completed.

Thanks. This helped. I still consider this a bug in the program as I had $0 in meals on a Sched C, but the CO state wants a positive number...

I found a $0 meals expense in a Sched C that was carried over from previous years (I assume because it had supporting details). I cleared that entry.

I DID have to delete the Colorado state return and start over for the entry to be cleared (and I was careful not to enter anything in the business meals addback entry). I now get no errors.
