I received the first stimulus checks for my son, but my ex was going to claim him for 2020. Does that mean he will get his stimulus check? Not sure if these are based off 2019 or 2020 taxes.

The stimulus is based off 2020 taxes so it really depends on the filing of the 2020 returns. If you ex has already filed his return and it’s been accepted and processed by the IRS, then he will probably get your son’s stimulus payment.

If your ex has not filed, then the stimulus will be based on 2019 taxes. So you would probably get the stimulus.
