last yr, i remodeled my store. how do i enter expense?

    most of those expenses would be capital in nature and since for a business depreciable over 39 years. items costing less than $2500 probably can be expensed under the de minimus safe harbor election

    You can not add this all as an expense.  If you did a complete remodel this would be added as an asset and depreciated over the useful life of the restrooms which for commercial property is 39 years. 

     

    To get there you will select the following:

    1. Business income and expenses
    2. I'll choose what I work on
    3. Start or update next to Business income and Expenses
    4. Edit next to your business profile
    5. Start next to Business Assets

    If you did other minor improvements in other areas of the store such as painting that are not part of an overall remodel, then you may be able to deduct that part as an expense. 

     

    This would be added the same as above except you would select start next to business expenses instead of assets.
