Line 9 ERROR? TurboTax Home & Business Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet

Line 9 in the TurboTax Home & Business 2022 Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet says "Percent of Business Use" and the Instructions say "Line 6, divided by 5c". The amount in Line 6a is 17272 and 6b is 0. The total of Line 6 is 17272. The amount in Line 5c is 18976. Manually calculating this on a calculator gives the result of 91.02%. TurboTax Home and Business is caculating this to be 45.51%. WHY???

I went back to the previous 2021 worksheet, and it did the same miscalculation. Why is this not correct? And were my taxes filed incorrectly last year?

I can't recreate your calculation.

It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" file that is experiencing this issue.

You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information.  If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:

Go to the black panel on the top of your screen and select Online.

Scroll down to and select Send tax file to Agent.
You will see a message explaining what the diagnostic copy is.  Click send through this screen and then you will get a Token number.
Reply to this thread with your Token number. This will allow us to open a copy of your return without seeing any personal information.

We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
