"Looks like we've run into an error." When importing data to TurboTax 2022 download Home & Business from my financial Institution

Wen I try to import data from Bank of America to TT H&B Desktop version, everything appears to be fine.  However, after receiving the "Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax." window I then get a TurboTax error window popping up, that says ""Looks like we've run into an error." We're sorry but we need to close TurboTax.  This may cause you to lose some of the info you've entered so please review your return after restarting to make sure nothing's missing.  Help us improve TurboTax by sending the error report created for this issue.  we'd also like to get some details about your experience when you encountered this error - please use the box below to provide additional comments.  We will only e-mail you if we need more details about this error.""

I have replied about this error to TurbTax and sent my comments to TurboTax from this error page.  This has been going on for about a month.  I even spoke with TuboTax to try and fix issue, but with no success.  I cleared cookies in both Chrome and MS Edge , changed my default browser from Chrome to Edge, uninstalled the and reinstalled software and changed screen resolution as advised.  However, I keep getting this error and TT crashes and anything done post my last save is then missing.  I will say I am able to import from a different financial institution successfully, however the import is done differently.

When importing from Bank of America, I get a message from TT that says it will be opening a new browser window, which takes me to a special portal between TT and BofA to log in.  I put in my credentials and then get my 2FA screen, enter the code, and see a TT icon with two arrows going back and forth to my BofA icon.  When it is complete I then get the message from above "Success! We got your tax data. You can now return to TurboTax." then the error message in the TT H&B software.  When I close the page by either replying in the comments with my email address, or just canceling, the TT software shuts down.  When doing an import from Merrill Edge, the import is done directly from the software and does not open a new web browser.  The import is successful.

Sorry for the long blown out explanation, but wanted to include as many details as I could.  Has anyone experienced this before? I cannot find any other posts from this current tax year.

When importing from Chase most of the transaction detail for stock sales is not coming thru. Cost and proceeds does come thru but dates and property description does not. DO I have to enter it all manually? If so what am I buying with TT?

EXCEEDINGLY FRUSTRATED with the error messages as well.  I given hour to try to get advance refund to my CREDIT KARMA ACCOUNT. The very same on I used LAST YEAR.  Figure this out TT or don’t dangle the carrot. I’ve been out of work for over a month, unemployment is lagging. I need my money now.

Same problem here with attempting to import financial data (File > Import > Import from Financial Institution) from JP Morgan Chase & Co. I can see and select my accounts, click on 'Connect my Account(s), I see the message ' Connecting to JP Morgan Chase & Co..., then 'Connection Complete!, then 'Looks like we've run into an error.' TT has forced closure. Cleared cookies and cache, restarted Windows 11 machine.

Yes, software is complex... If an import feature is present, it should work, particularly if the financial institution is one of the big ones. Per the product description, "Avoid mistakes by importing W-2s, investment & mortgage information from participating companies (may require free Intuit account)." JP Morgan Chase & Co. appears to be a participating company. Are there any options other than manual date entry?

The same error condition still exists on March 23, 2023.  Clearing cache and browsing history does not fix issue as suggested in another post.  I wish I knew how to get Intuit's attention on a critical fundtion failure!

I have tried everything on here and I still have the problem everyone else has.  I guess I am going to have to manually input it which is what I paid Turbo Tax to do.  How about a partial refund??

The problem is turbotax by default has all accounts including accounts don't even have documents to import. If you have issue with JP Morgan, you can logon to JP morgan under the security/privacy/linked app clicked on shared accounts unselect all accounts that don't have tax document to import. Then retry TT. That is how I fixed my problem.

Good Luck!

I am having the same issue when I log into my Chase account. The error shuts the software down and any unsaved information is lost. I haven’t found a solution.

See my response on how to fix the problem of TT Premier crashing after reporting a successful download of 1099 data from Chase. Link is here: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/1099-jpm-chase-downloads-with-tt-premier-desktop-solved/01/3044841#M1111754

I hope this works for you.

I am trying to import bank data.  Got the message, Re: "Looks like we've run into an error." When importing data to TurboTax 2022 download Home & Business from my financial Institution

I have Navy Federal and tried to do credit cards and it appear they imported after same message, but don't know how to get to it.

I have the same problem with jp Morgan and Wells Fargo. The new procedure is useless. back to manual entry. Also, when I loaded turbotax for 2023 it only updated part pf the 2022 info. Any way to fix this?

I am having the same problem - just with a different bank.  My brokerage account imports just fine. I also am having a problem manually entering my Credit Union which is not in the drop down list.  I had no trouble doing this last year.
