Question

Moving My Business to another State

I started my C Corp in NY and recently moved to OH.

I currently have clients that are in NY and plan to keep them.  I am attempting to get clients from OH.

Do I need to move my corporation to OH?

Do I pay tax in NY for the NY clients and in OH for the OH clients?  Or do I just pay OH tax?

Register the corporation in the state you move to.  If a CPA you would want to get reciprocity standing to become licensed in the state you move to keeping and maintaining the certification in the prior state.  The new state becomes your residency state and you would pay tax there.  If you are a regular type of business, pay the Ohio tax on the Ohio Income and New York on the New York Income by filing multiple state returns with the federal and split the income.
