Question

Multi member LLC registered in PA. Invested in real estate firm in NJ. There is no income in 2024. Do I need to submit NJ Partnership or only PA partnership should be ok?

According to the New Jersey Division of Taxation, a partnership is required to file a tax return if it receives income sourced in New Jersey or has partners who reside in New Jersey. Otherwise, no tax return is required.

Got it. The money was invested in an LLC in NJ. My LLC is not involved in any business related activity in NJ. Do I still need to file NJ partnership form after I receive the income from the investment in that LLC in NJ? For my multi member LLC, only me and my wife are partners. We do not have any partner from NJ.
