Multi Member Non-NJ LLC with 1 NJ Resident Partner. Do I need to file NJ NJ-1065 and NJ-CBT-1065

Hi All

I am a NJ based partner for a multi member LLC. LLC has no business and income whatsoever from New Jersey.

Do I still need to file NJ-CBT-1065  and NJ-1065? TurboTax does not prompt to download NJ State Partnership but I still downloaded it.

After downloading it prompts to pay partnership fee for all 3 members (myself as NJ resident and others as non-NJ resident).

At some point it mentions "since xxxx LLC has non-resident partners, you will need to file Form NJ-CBT-1065 and pay non-resident partners tax"

If the LLC is not registered in NJ and has no NJ-sourced income, you would not file a NJ partnership return. As a NJ resident, you will need to file a NJ resident individual state tax return to include any other income from the LLC.
