My LLC invested money in another LLC who works for real estate development. Does it count as QBI for my LLC? I am not directly involved in the real estate development.

Mine is a multi member LLC and I am going to get a fixed return after the completion of the project of the LLC I invested money in. In 2024, I just have some LLC set up cost and some business deductions. I do not have any income.

As long as your LLC does not provide specified services (called SSTB), your business qualifies as a QBI trade or business. Read more here: Is my business an SSTB?
