Turbotax put interest income, and social security automatically as income on my Wisconsin filing.  I am not a Wisconsin resident, and these sources should not be in the State filing.  I cannot see mechanism to remove these in the online version.

Are you seeing Social Security listed as Wisconsin income on line 14 of the Wisconsin 1NPR Nonresident and Part Year Resident form?

Is the Social Security subtracted under line 28 Other adjustments reducing Wisconsin income on line 30?

Many federal items are adjusted on Schedule M, which flows to line 28 on the Form 1NPR.

This should happen automatically in many cases (like Social Security).

Please look at line 30B and see if you can identify what goes into that number.

We are residents of Iowa but have K-1 income from WI this year.  Turbo tax WI is including our taxable interest and non taxable municipal interest on the return.  (The Social Security amount and taxable refund are listed in income but adjusted out on Sch M Part II)  How do I remove the interest from the WI return?

You can remove you out-of-state bank and municipal interest from Wisconsin Form 1NPR by using TurboTax CD/Download.

See How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download?

  1. Once you have your return open in CD/Download, tap Forms in the top right corner
  2. In the left column, tap Inc Alloc Wks beneath Wisconsin individual
  3. Copy your interest and municipal bond interest amounts into the Non-Wisconsin column
  4. Tap Step-by-Step where Forms used to be to get back to the interview mode
