Need to attach supporting documents for bad debt write off form 8949

How can I attach a supporting document from the sponsor of the loan, rather than only be able to type in a bad debt explanation box? It is much more official if i attach the PDF loss file I have from the sponsor. Please advise.

you can't unless you mail your return. There is no way that Turbotax can convert nonstandard items into 0s and 1s which is what is actually transmitted. then at the other end the IRS computers having no idea of what is being sent would not be able to convert those 0s and 1s back.

So should i mail in my return then if i file a bad debt non business? Or is just a simple explanation OK

The simple explanation should be fine. If the IRS wants any more explanation they'll send you a letter and you can submit the printed pdf at that time.
