On my state taxes it says hidden federal transfer Wks: Taxpayer occupation has too many characters?? What does this mean and how do I correct it. Federal is correct.

This means that your state return's occupation field is shorter than the federal one.  You can fix that by returning to the My Info section and shortening the title in the Occupation box. 

1. Open your return and make sure that Federal is highlighted on the left, or in the tabs.
2. Click on My info, or Personal info.
3. Click on Edit to the right of the first name listed on the return. 
4. Scroll down to Occupation or Job Title.
5. Shorten what is entered there. This field is a general description of what you do. For example: Clerk, Administrator, Manager, etc. If needed, use abbreviations like Admin for Administrator or Asst for Assistant.
