Question

On my w2 box 16 is says waxes for state but I live in Texas. This causes an issue as the program now wants me to enter an employee Id for the state. Do I remove box 16?

Texas doesn’t have state taxes so I’m wondering if this is an issue with my w2

Yes, leave the state information section blank. Your W2 has information from your employer to the federal and state. Your employer already submitted your W2 information. You do not use that section.

Texas does not have an income tax. Leave W2 boxes 15-17 Blank.
