Hi,

I just registered my business in May 2021 and I need to file the Sales and Use tax for my state (TN). I'm wondering that since I haven't made any sales but I do have expenses. How could I report to them or I just check no sales for the period and don't have to include expenses?

Thank you!

TurboTax, generally, does not support sales and use tax returns that are filed separately with a state.

You can refer to the instructions at the site below.

TurboTax is for Income tax at the federal and state level. Not for sales/use tax, as that's a completely different beast that lives in it's own cave. Sales/use tax is a tax imposed on the products/services you sell, and has nothing really, to do with the profit you make. So you'll deal with any sales/use tax outside of and separately from TurboTax.

A starting point for information on collecting, paying and reporting the sales/use tax in TN can be found at https://www.tn.gov/revenue/taxes/sales-and-use-tax.html.
