If you qualify for the Illinois Property Tax Credit, you will need your Property Index Number, sometimes called "parcel number" or "permanent index number." This number is located on your county tax bill or assessment notice (for property tax paid on your principal residence during the tax year for which you are filing your return).
If your property tax is paid through your mortgage, you can contact your lender for a copy of your bill. You may also get this number from your county assessor's office.
Schedule ICR is asking me for an adjoining lot PIN but I don't have any adjoining lots to my property. I left the field blank but I keep getting an error stating that this entry is blank and needs a valid PIN when running final check. Do I just ignore this error?
Your adjoining lot PIN is your Property Index Number as @MAK70 wrote directly above your post. It is found on your county tax bill or tax assessment bill. Enter that, you can't ignore the error.
