Solved

The 1099-G section doesn't allow me to enter the Schedule A information for my wife and I. We weren't married last year but I can't seem to enter separate info.

You should be able to select which spouse belongs to the income.  Combine your itemized deduction amounts if you each itemized deductions last year.  If one of you did not itemize deductions last year then that state or local refund is not taxable and does not need to be entered.

Both of these can be entered by following the instructions below.  The Form 1099G is used for many things as you can see.

You can go directly to enter these two documents.

  1. Select My Account in the upper right, then select Tools
  2. Choose Topic Search
  3. Search state refunds > Go
  4. Continue to make the proper entries
  5. Click the screenshots attached to enlarge and view for assistance

For the second one select "Add Another State or Local Tax Refund"

I was able to add multiple lines/refunds (since we filed separately) but the income step didn't really ask for separate information so I just wasn't sure if I could consolidate the line items from both of our schedule A's. Thank you!
