Question

The question includes hazardous duty areas but does not list hazardous locations such as South Korea which is where I am located. Am I able to state this on my return?

Please provide more information about your particular situation so that we may properly assist you.  However, a way to know is if, on your W-2, you have a code Q in the box 12 area. This is pay that is considered hazardous duty pay therefore location.

 

Form W-2 or any other document because they are exempt from federal and state income tax. Combat pay is indicated by code Q on Form W-2, box 12.  So enter the W-2 as it is if your Box 12 on W-2 shows code Q.  TurboTax will automatically treat the amount appropriately.
