Question

Turbo Tax auto-filled my business code as 999000. This is incorrect. How do I change this code?

The error is coming up during the Federal Review process and I am filling in the correct code. The correct code does not seem to be "sticking" in my return and is stopping me from e-filing.

To change the business code, follow the steps below.

 

  1. Open TurboTax.
  2. "Pick up where I left off."
  3. Federal > Wages & Income >  Self-employment income and expenses >  Start/Edit.

 

 

 

     4.  Edit  "Self-employed business income and expenses."

 

 

 

 

   5.  Scroll down to "Business Summary," > Edit Business info."

 

 

 

     6.  Edit Business code.

 

 

    7.  Enter "999999" or the business code for your business.
