Why does Turbo Tax Desktop Business ask for the owners' SSNs if it isn't something that goes on Form 1120? I'm filing the taxes for a C Corp with 3 founders, and while entering the business info it is asking for the SSNs of all the owners. I'd rather not ask the other 2 for sensitive information if it isn't even going to be used on Form 1120. Can I just skip adding the other owner infos if it isn't filed?
The information is transmitted to and required by the IRS even though it isn't printed on the 1120. You can decide not to enter it but then you will have to paper file the return.
