Turbo Tax is asking for a category for box 14. None of the options seem to apply to me. What does this mean?

Box 14 of the W-2 is typically used for informational purposes.  Most of the time the information reported there does not transfer to other sections of the tax return.

Entering the information as it is reported on your W-2 in box 14.  You can type the description and the amount yourself.  Then, choose 'Other - not classified' as the category in the drop-down box if none of the other categories fit what is shown on your W-2.  This choice is at the bottom of the list.

What is the code or abbreviation in box 14 that TurboTax is asking for the category for, and what state did you work in?
