Question

Very small business; which product do I need?

Hello, my wife has a blog/website that has some expenses and generates a few thousand dollars of income over the course of the year.  We have no employees, don't issue any 1099s, and only take depreciation on a couple of items for the business (a computer and some photography equipment).  We filed a Schedule C, Schedule SE, and Form 8995 last year.  Do I really need "Home & Business" or even "Premier"?  Wouldn't Deluxe be enough?  I used Premier for my 2019 taxes and it worked fine.  And if I buy Deluxe but find I need more, can I upgrade through the application?  I prefer CD/Download over online.  Also, what is the difference between Home & Business (sold at retailers) and Self-Employed (on your website)?  Thanks in advance!

Also, what is the difference between Home & Business (sold at retailers) and Self-Employed (on your website)?Only difference is the delivery system ... one is the online version and the other the downloaded.

If you use the downloaded version ANY of them will do ... the H&B has more "assistance" if you need it.

If you use the DOWNLOADED/CD version then you can use  ANY version ... if you don't need to file a state return choose Basic and  if you do need a state then Deluxe.   https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/

You can also purchase the CD/download from various retailers such as Costco, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Staples, Sam’s Club, etc. etc. etc.

FYI … if you don’t  buy the Deluxe program from TT directly then be aware that it is sold with AND without the state program … so read the ad carefully if you need a state.
