What do the self employed put as identifying number on Form 4562 : SS# or the code for the type of business?

    Just put the Social Security number of the person that Form 4562 relates to -- presumably, the same person reporting self-employment income.  The business code isn't necessary for this form.

    That's what I thought but the person who used to work for HR& Block told me to put the SSN of the primary taxpayer on the return, who is not the one self employed.
