What does PENS mean in box 14 of my W-2?

I was confused about this particular wording on my W-2 as I was filing it recently. Every time I would enter the $ amount in box 14, it would decrease my tax return by the amount entered. that reduction is my first question, but my second question is what does PENS mean.

Probably Pension.  But that shouldn't affect your refund.
