The 2023 CD/download software is already available although it will still require a number of updates; many state and federal forms will not be ready until later in January--or even February.  The online software for 2023 will be available in early December.  The IRS will not begin to accept 2023 returns until late January.  There is no hurry.  Employers, clients, banks, financial institutions, etc. will be issuing tax documents in early 2024 and some may take until mid to late February to be available.
