Where does the amount on Schedule 2 line 17k come from?

IRS instructions for Schedule 2 line 17k reference a "box 12 of Form W-2 with code
K", but my W-2 doesn't have a code K. Why does Turbotax have an amount on line17k? Where did this amount come from?

The number also comes from Form 1099-MISC Box 13, Excess golden parachute payments.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I didn't receive a 1099-MISC--so I'm still not sure why I've got an amount on Line17k.

The W-2 and 1099-MISC are the only two data sources for Schedule 2-line 17k.

You can contact support and they can look at your return.

What is the TurboTax phone number?

You can also try deleting Schedule 2. That may clear the error.

Tap Tax Tools in the left column
Then Tools
Select Delete a Form in the center
Delete Schedule 2
Tap Continue With My Return at the bottom

If the line repopulates it means data is coming in from somewhere else in which case you should definitely contact support.
