Statement A is provided to you by the entity that gave you the K-1.

 

It will only be included if the entity is passing through to you QBI (qualified business income), which may be eligible for the new (2017+) 20% pass through deduction. (Amazing complicated deduction, BTW).

Do you have an entry in Box 20 that is code Z? If not I don't think you'll have a statement A because you have no QBI.

 

If the code Z number is small you could also just ignore it and give up a possible 20% of that number deduction.
