I purchased a Desktop Premier version from Costco but I need the Home and Business - can I upgrade online or do I need to return the product to Costco and purchase the correct version

You can use the Premier desktop edition without upgrading.

All of the TurboTax desktop editions include the same forms, schedules and worksheets. You get more help and guidance from the higher editions.

After installing the Premier edition depending on the type of income being reported the program will recommend that you upgrade to the Home & Business edition. This is a recommendation only and Not required.

If you do decide to upgrade click on Upgrade TurboTax at the bottom right of the desktop program screen. You will only be charged the difference in price between the Premier and Home & Business edition.
