Remove derogatory credit hit

I had a derogatory credit hit that was incorrect. The debt was removed because it was resolved that I never owed the amount it was a mistake by a cable company. However, it still shows up as a debt collector came after me and I paid. How would I remove this?

    Try writing the credit agencies and asking them to remove the I correctly reported account. Make sure to include the letter or whatever proof you have from the original creditor that your dispute was honored.
