Why should I care about a credit score?

According to Turbo tax here, my credit score is "very low". Why is that a bad thing? I'm fine with it being where it is.

    That is really dumb. How I work cannot be measured in numbers. My score may be low, but I work hard. It should never be a factor when looking for a job. Good people with not so great credit still need a decent job and shouldn't work 2-3 jobs just to make ends meet.

    If you read the article closely, your credit score is not a factor in hiring for all employers - it is more likely to be a factor if you're looking for employment in the financial services industry and they need your permission to inquire anyway.
