Employment Expenses Claiming the GST Rebate

For income tax year 2022

Can municipal staff claim GST Rebate for hydro, heat, water, Internet and maintenance costs?  

 

For 2020 to 2023.  Does CRA contact the employer to inquire about any claims made by employees?  I don't want to cause any administrative burden on my employer.

If you paid GST/HST  on those items, then they can be included for Employee and Partner GST/HST Rebate (GST370). 

 

And yes, the CRA might ask about your employee expense claims, but they will usually contact you first, not the employer.
