Question

I am carrying forward charitable donations from previous years, am i first supposed to send receipts somewhere? How does this work?

I have unclaimed charitable dinations dating back to 2015. Am i supposed to attach the receipts somehow to my return, or send them to an email or something?

    You must claim your donation in the 5 years that you made the donation. Therefore you can carry forward for a maximum of 5 years.

     

    You will need to keep your receipts- If and when the CRA asks to see them make sure that you have them available.
