Unable to remove disability tax credit from my return?

I have spent an hour trying to remove the disability tax credit . I cannot remove the disability amount of $14,928. I never even entered a dollar figure, the amount just entered automatically.

I have unticked the boxes but it shows up as my dependent qualifies.

Hi There,

In order to remove this, you'll need to backtrack to the interview questions at the beginning.

There should be a question which asks if you have disability credits for yourself or dependants - this would be where you unselect the box, in order to remove it. Once you unselect it in the interview questions and click next, that selection will be saved.

If you are using TurboTax Deskop, you may consider to check this place:

- Under "View" Menu > Click "Forms Method"

- Click on the "Dependent Information" button at the top tool bar

- Review and update your selections there. Then Close.

- Under "View" Menu > Click on "Easy Step Interview" to return to the interview screen.
