I received a 1099 misc for payment of severance package, i was unemployed for the first 3 months in 2019 and 4 months on the last part of 2018.

As I'm doing my taxes currently I'm a getting a high impact on my return when I enter the information for the 1099 Misc. I need some advise on what can be done to reduce as much as possible this impact, as I was unemployed for 3 months in 2019.

If I sign up for Turbo tax with CPA assistance can I discuss this further with them???
