Hello TT Community,

I am not sure if it is a bug or something else. Please find below the parameters, I can't figure out why column C, lines 8a, 8e, 10 and 17 are showing -1?

1098

Mortgage interest  (box 1)--> 14.8K

Outstanding mortgage (box 2) --> 333K

Mortgage origination date (box 3)--> 2009

Side 2 Schedule CA (540) 2019

C Additions

Interest You Paid:

8a, 8e, 10 and 17--> -1 ???

First, are you filing a resident, part-year resident, or nonresident return?

Second, are any of the numbers (like your mortgage interest) expressed as $XXX.XX? Amounts like $1 or -$1 are often a function of rounding.

If your mortgage interest or other related number is in the format $XXX.XX, then try rounding the number as found on your 1098 and entering it into TurboTax already rounded (this is OK with the IRS and FTB). See if this clears the -$1.

Column A Federal Amounts (lines 8a, 8e, 10) show interest paid 13.6K while 1098 (box 1) 14.7K. I believe the mortgage interest is automatically transferred from the Federal entry, I am not sure why in the Schedule CA (540) is showing 13.6K instead of 14.7K?
