When inputting a recipient's info in Turbotax quick employer (e-file) Form 1099-DIV filing Worksheet, I received the following error message : Total dividends box 1a must be greater than or equal to the sum of box 1b, 2e, and 6.

Note the amounts inputted in box 1a and 1b are exactly the same and there were no inputs made for boxes 2e and 6.  TT doesn't allow me to either view or press Done, only Back.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I believe Turbotax has a rounding issue in comparing the sum of boxes 1b, 2e, and 6. against box 1a   See example below.  Note, box 2e and 6 are both zero.

I suspect the formula that sums boxes 1b, 2e, and 6 rounds up or down and causes the slightly smaller figure in box 1b to be greater (1,915) than box 1a (1,914.71) in the example below.  I tested this by changing box 1b to 1,914.49 (round down to 1,914) and the error message cleared.  I also tested this theory by inputting exactly 1,915 in both boxes 1a and 1b and the error message cleared.

It appears the program did not know how to round up $1914.50 or did not round up the $1914.71 amount.  It  appears you determined how to fix the issue. We will will keep watch to see if similar issues arise so we can address this issue if it becomes wide-spread.
