A Question about line 2b on form 8962

I have been reading the IRS "Instructions for Form 8962". Specifically, Line 2b. They have a notation - * Only include your dependents who are required to file an income tax return because their income meets the income tax return filing threshold.

Last year, I entered my daughter's AGI. She was not required, due to income, to file a federal return, but she did.

This year, she still is not required to but will. Should I list her 2024 AGI on 2b, and/or does it really matter?

The instructions for form 8962 state "Do not include the modified AGI of dependents who are filing a tax return only to claim a refund of tax withheld or estimated tax."

It does matter as it contributes to the household income figure that is used to calculate the premium tax credit (PTC) entitlement.  Generally you want your household income lower for a higher PTC entitlement.

Thanks.  Last year it didn't matter, this year she made more.
