We live in CA but have some rental income in CO.

So we're filing for both states CA and CO, and--do we do anything for "colorado child care credit", or is that only for where we live?

And for "Other credits"--   "other taxes already paid (including real estate)"--it says ..."for nonresident and certain payments were made on your behalf....."    What does this mean....?

Colorado nonresidents may not claim Colorado childcare credits. It’s only available for residents.

Other taxes paid on your behalf are items including state withholding paid by partnerships to partners or withholding from the sale of property. This is not common.
